This stone was bought few years ago from the www.gemcollector website. It was on sale, I think it cost me around £120. The first two pictures were taken with flash, the third without flash.
The danburite mineral is usually colourless, but can also occur in the shades of yellow. It has a Mohs-scale hardness 7 or 7.5. Its clarity, resilience and strong dispersion make it valuable as cut stone for jewellery. It is named after Danbury, Connecticut, US, where it first was discovered.
woah first time seeing such a gemstone!
It is a lesser known stone, but still nice!!! Thanks for your comment and love!
That would look fabulous in a nice ring or pendant mount. :-))))

Thank you all for your comments/loves!!!
Bonnie - I was thinking about it, but because I rarely wear jewellery, there is not much point to mount it into a pendant or ring.
Aura - thank you, I like it too!!!
Antiquerose - I think it was such a good price, I looked up on eBay prices to compare, mine was a bargain.
Judy - thank you, I agree !!! :)
