I found this rather nice stainless steel cutlery set today, boxed and only missing one tea spoon. I looked up Firth Staybrite, and found it is the trade name given to 18/8 stainless steel ( ie 18% chromium and 8% nickel) and was discovered by Thomas Firth of Sheffield. Apparently Old Hall used their steel when they began there tableware production in 1928. The cutlery is marked Firth Staybrite, Sheffield, England, and looks as if it's never been used. I wondered if anyone knows the pattern on the handles. I haven't been able to find any like them.

      Hello,
I found your post while searching for information on Firth Staybrite. My husband is digging the ground for our new raised beds this afternoon and has found a single Firth Staybrite teaspoon that matches your collection! I'm sure it can't possibly be the missing spoon from your box but it's lovely to think that there might be a link.

      All the best,

      Alex.

That's amazing Alex. It's reminded me I have this cutlery somewhere, and I've no idea where!
