    I bought this because I fell head over heels for it even though it has a small chip. It is very heavy and measures 45cm by 45cm including the wooden frame (which is of beautiful quality) while the pottery circle alone measures 29cm across. It has been mounted on hessian and this combined with the style makes me think 1970s. It is in beautiful condition apart from the chip. You can see there is a metal name plate on the hessian reading 'M. GIRBAU'. I have googled this name with no joy. I would dearly love to know more about the history of this piece.

      Found an artist called Monserrat Altet Girbau, did his thesis in barcelona. Here’s a link to an International Ceramicists convention in Ireland, which he was involved in.
      May not be relevant, but a lead..
