These were dug up in the woods. They are shaped like cowbells but I'm not sure why they would have holes near the bottom. Any ideas?

I'm so glad you found these ! Incredibly rare & probably the last ones still surviving. I had 2 for decades that I turned down blank checks for & turned away auction houses like Sotheby's almost daily. Professionals finally made it thru my $145K burglar system & class III armed guards ! My low-balling insurance co. only settled at $2. 8 Mil. ! I was told mine were the only 2 in existence ! Be careful !
LOL! Should've left them in the ground. Then I wouldn't need to spend sleepless nights worrying about being burglarized!
Glad people in NH have a sense of humour. Of course it's not cold yet ! Bobby got it, but doubt he had nearly as much fun as I did !! LOL !
Bobby, don't make me laugh while I'm stamping this stainless spoon with "REVERE" . See, you made me slip-up, & after I spent 10 mins. polishing out "MADE IN CHINA" !!
Thanks Bobby!
Either things went awry for their machine, the rest is out there/salvaged, or they didn't much care to bring back replaced pieces.
