A beautiful Welz vase in a decor and shape I've seen and admired before but not had the pleasure to own.
In glittery green and (is it Oxblood?) red with a patterned moulded shape.
One of two, sadly the other ones destined for the bin, when I can bring myself to put it in there, being damaged beyond repair.
I'm getting used to size surprises, this is 7" tall but looks smaller than that and than I imagined.
Thank you
I have found that Fran - they all look taller in pictures than they are in reality.
Lovely example, Fran. This shape, together with its thorny feet and thorny rigaree, is not that often found.
Absolutely beautiful!!
Thank you for the comments and loves everyone :)
Great example of Welz production! I would call the dark red an oxblood. Nice one Fran.
Thank you Craig. I thought it probably was Oxblood, as it crops up quite often, I have a few variations of it, but this ones a first :) It can look very different colours depending on the outer coat, the Oxblood and green looks black!
What a great Welz vase! I don't recall having seen one like it before - very pretty! :)
