I really like the blue glass stone in this brooch. The setting seems to be brass. The brooch in in perfect structural condition but there is a bit of darkening of the brass on one side of it. I am not sure if I should try to polish it or rather leave it as it is.
The brooch has a trombone closure. I believe it dates to the 1930's or 1940's.

That's really pretty! The trombone clasp was patented in 1850. The rivet hinge came into being around 1900.
Thanks for your information, Efesgirl. That means that my brooch could, potentially, date back to 1918 or thereafter, when Czechoslovakia was first created:)
