American Fruit Jar Rings, Display Box contains 24 boxes, each box has 12 rings. Nice colors and graphics on boxes. Old/New Stock. This is probably what you would see displayed in a General store. I think these are circa 1920-1930. Jar rings were, and are still, used in home canning to seal the jar so the items in the jar would not be contaminated. Some of the methods used to seal jars included: cold pack, hot pack, water bath, oven, open kettle and steam process.
