I purchased this about 10yrs ago and left it in a box, item is hallmarked Birmingham 1978 - letter D, LW maker, but has no gold Mark. When I first purchased it I expected it was plated sterling underneath. But to my surprise when I tested it, it came as 14ct gold, I have filed the end of the earring vigorously but the item always is the same 14ct gold. I bought this at a bootfair and originally had the other earring for about 10 seconds, until I placed it in my pocket which I must of missed with the other earring. When I got home and found the pendant to be gold I went back to the field and spent hours looking for it but no luck. The farmer who owned the field even got a metal detector to help but someone must of found it, not long after I left. Length approx 2.5cm including hoop. By the way the stones are deeper red than shown in pictures, sometimes pictures don't show properly.
Thank you Manikin the earring will make a nice pin/brooch as I lost the other
Birmingham's gold mark is an anchor on it's side. Is that not on any of the pieces?
Very pretty! May it's just the way the pics make the stones look but I'm seeing garnets, not rubies.
Thanks everyone, Yes it is hallmarked with an anchor I'm British remember lol, Just the camera is not the best picture 2. Also the colour is a lot deeper red, look at the white paper towel it looks yellow in some places not white. Every picture I take on my iPad comes out the same and to tell you the truth I just about know how to use it, when I start trying to change stuff things get worse.
No make that pic 3
I have those earrings
