      I was thinking the same thing about some sort of animal processing, or milk/butter press... I'm stumped though. I too am looking forward to any info

      Probably not close but the first thing I thought was a sorting table. For beans, peas, or other. Pick out all the junk and push the good into a bucket? Maybe cotton?

      Can't see blacksmith hot going with wood real well. But it's as good a guess as mine.
