    Meadowsmom

Item measures 7 inches long, is made of metal and extends open almost 180 degrees. I'm perplexed as to its purpose?

It's an asian betel nut cutter.

Thank you so much. Had a gut feeling it had something to do with nuts. Appreciate your feedback!

All that detail, just to crack betel nuts ? Sure this wasn't adapted from something like an early nuclear reactor slide rule ? All that intricate detail, & we have betel nuts dumped on us ?!! LOL !! Going to have to keep my "drool-rag" handier, to protect my keyboard ! LOL !!

Your funny......does seem a bit OVERKILL to get at a nut!! Seems they are pretty pricey too! Goggle search found some in the $400 range. Go figure! ;-)
