Cast iron was/is popular for making corn bread. It looks like this was probably used for this. I will try and find mine, which also has the corn cob pressed into the mold. When I make corn bread, the bread sticks come out with the look of a corn cob stamped on it.
I was told it was for corn bread but the spaces are only one inch wide and there are 11 of them. One side of each space is rounded, the other side is square. I know it was used for baking so maybe it was cornbread. Looks like it would work for sausage or hotdogs lol.
For cornbread sticks. Mo crispy ! Mo better ! Not knowing what these are must be coming from some uncivilized area. LOL !!
Blunderbuss your the second person that said it was for cornbread sticks. I was born and raised in the hills of Southeast Ohio and W Va and have to admit I have never heard of cornbread sticks. Thanks for the info :)
