I keep a typewriter around because I find it easier to slip those forms you get into & you're usually thru before You can scan it. A Swedish girlfriend walked in yrs. ago while I was doing this & asked me, "What's that ?" Took me a moment to realize that she meant the typewriter ! Damn, I felt really old !

That's quite a nice machine, and being a Royal its of good quality. I would recon it is about a 1920s to 1930s model. When it comes to typewriters, I always favor and recommend the old 1920s machines because of their reliability and excellent quality, most stylish too. Very nice find!

I use to be very active typewriter collector and would have to add that Royal started selling their portables in multiple colors around 1932 - 1935.

Thank you everyone. I made a mistake it is a Remington not a Royal. It has been in my family for years. I picked it up from my fathers home when he was getting rid of everything to sell the house. The chair was painted white before then I spray painted it yellow. It was from a 125 year old home built in 1891. A swedish immigrant built the home named Rose Gramza and I had her great grandson in one of m classrooms. He was an all honors student in middle school. He told me that he and his parents went to the house to get a recipe for Limpa bread a family recipe. The most ironic thing was that my landlord and owner of the home's name was Widerquist and he was of Swedish decent as well. My great grandfather was an attorney in South Bend and his office was built in 1910. I believe that was one of the typewriters used at his office. I am not sure the building has been since torn down. William N. Bergan graduated from Notre Dame School of Law and I worked at the University for thirteen years. My great uncle Cornelius Hagerty was a priest at the University of Notre Dame order of Holy Cross. Thank you for the information and interest. I am a history buff and love to learn more about antiques and items that are significant to me.
