I have purchased this item in Nantes in France a few days ago in a rather grotty flea market stall. I cleaned it up and the markings at the bottom say C Dior Paris ( a number 1 or letter I ) and then another mark I cannot identify. It is a lovely little hammered silver cup with a good amount of weight to it. I am not sure if it is Christian Dior or indeed what it is. Please help.
Some of the best things are found on grotty stalls! I did am Image search and only found one item in relation to Christian Dior silver that is not jewelry. For some unknown reason, the maker's mark is mentioned but not pictured (dumb, considering the price they are asking!).

CW has a resident Parisian who may know more. Oh kyra!!!
Ha, sorry, can't help for Dior, I'm a H&M and C&A customer... ;-D
Deanery, your goblet is very nice and I love its rounded low shape!
I found an interesting pdf or a Artcurial sale of Christian Dior "la maison" pièces in Google search for "timbale argentée C.Dior Paris":
timbale argentee c.dior paris - Recherche Google

It appears Dior from 1955 sold pieces for house or gifts in his Avenue Montaigne boutique.
The silverware appears to have been made from silver-plated, commissioned in Italy for the "Dior la maison" line.
I just knew kyra would come through with something - I felt it in my old bones.
:-)))))
Bonnie! I had only to search in French ;-D
Thank you so much for all this information. I am still confused by the markings as they appear different from all the other pieces. Hoping to find out more. Xx
Agree the mark should be Christian Dior rather than C.Dior...
Do you think this makes it suspicious of fakery? And do you or anyone else have insight into the other markings?
I really don't know, I gathered these Infos from Google!
I found that exact same cup in a thrift store here in Palm Springs. It also only says
"C Dior"
"Paris"
"Made Italy"
Been trying to research it for months!
