I have another post of a similar item (a long dresser with mirror) that I'm trying to figure out, so those pictures and/or post may add information to this one.
Got this with the house about 30 years back.
Evenly carved into the rear side of the top surface "690", and about 8 inches to the right of that "00". (My other piece also says "690" at the back, but not "00".)(Looks too even to have been carved in by hand, but I don't know much about that.)
Those knobs on the front seem to be brass, they're cold and dense and they're the right color, and the same material comprises the pull-out circle finger handles.
22"L 58"H 40"W
The drawer construction is the same as the dresser in my other post, so I didn't waste a picture here. The ball-and-claw legs are also identical as the other piece.
I included a picture of some chipping away on the inside of a cabinet door because I'd thought it was solid wood all the way through so I didn't understand why that was like that.
Any info is appreciated.
Very nice, I have always loved chippendale style, especially in cabinets and dressers and chairs.
