November 1998 the last Buick Riviera for 1999 came off the assembly line, total built 1,787 including 200 Silver Arrows.

I began leasing the Riviera when they first came out, the design was way ahead of its time and look today at Jags, Lexus Coupe, Tesla and follow the curvature of design and see if you can determine any significant difference?

When in 2001 it came time for me to return the leased Red Riviera shown is when I discovered that they no longer were making it? Asked what other sport full size coupe options were there a Monte Carlo? NOT a Riviera. Caddy quit making the El Dorado. So I found a company that followed this leased car to auction and bought it back company made $500 I paid $14,5000.

Once the car began to get over 175,000 miles and a new GM super charger I thought I would begin searching for a lower mileage Riv. I started a simple google query thinking I will get thousands of responses just in Florida my home state, instead I got few and most were out of state? Now my curiosity kicked in and searched more to discover the limited production of this specific year. Now I understood math alone would calculate that with only 1,787 built that in 10 years due to floods, fires, storms, wrecks 1,500 easily were destroyed. 287 remaining Rivieras worldwide from 2009 how many since have been destroyed?

I began searching in earnest for a replacement for my Red Riviera in 2013. At that time funds and location of cars found prevented me from buying. Now in 2015 I found a Green Riv mint condition $5,500 delivered to Florida, 114,000 miles. No sooner did this Green Riv arrive that I saw a Riviera on a local lot and bought that one . Two months later a Red Riviera in Jacksonville that I had been watching dropped in price by $1,500 so I bought that one too. In year 2015 I became the owner of the largest collection of 1999 Buick Rivieras in the World, less than 50 exist. Don't believe me try finding number 51.
