I love Tango glass and this little one comes in at just over 3" tall. I believe the color is meant to be Ivory but with thicker or smaller glass the pigmentation can get concentrated a little; So this one is more custard or soft yellow. This shape is very different with those little handles that look like arms. The rim and foot have the same black thread to contrast the base color. Lastly, it has what I call the "Viennese style" waltzing couple. I have seen quite a few examples and I can only guess they were bridal occasion gifts because of the theme.

PS- Please send me a pic if you have this type of decor at Jerichohair@yahoo.com

Is this piece marked at all?
    3. jericho jericho, 8 years ago
No, it has a concave foot about 2" wide with a pontil reaching almost to the black ribbon, some Powolny and Bolek pieces have the threading on rim and foot.
The foot is closed by the way not hollow

Notice these three pieces, the enameling is the same

Personally, I would be quite surprised if this were Loetz production with the way the clear and yellow are in the foot.

I'll send you a pic of the foot, even though the enamel is put on other pieces that are documented it doesn't mean that decorating companies didn't use different blanks from different producers

Personally, I will stick with my initial assessment of the quality of the piece not being Loetz.

I have prepared a shape comparison of the image of this vase and the image from the Loetz poster mentioned in the previous comment. All I have done was enlarge the poster image to get the two the same height while maintaining the aspect ration of height to width so as to not change the appearance of the poster shape at all. I also played with contrast so that the poster image shape was seen clearly. Sorry it is a little fuzzy, but the original image of the shape was quite small.

The two shapes, this one and the one in the poster, are not at all the same when compared side by side. Not really even close in my opinion.

Readers are certainly free to make up their own minds after viewing the image linked below:

Thanx for the line drawings, I had not noticed it. ill take a better shot of the foot against black so you can see the foot curves into the flat part. it just fools the eye when its clear like that, ill also send you the pontil craig

Thanx for the interest and for peaceably disagreeing with each other

Please also take a pic from a distance directly from the side for me if you would also. I would like to see as close to a perfect profile shot as you can get. The further back you can get from the piece, the more accurate the profile image will be. I can enlarge and play with it if it is small in the scheme of the whole frame. Thanks

Maybe it's a Loetz whimsey?? A practice piece?
