A beautiful owl and the pussy cat, water colour illustration by Owen wood.
I've ordered the book of which this illustration comes from, just waiting to get it tho the post.
This was another great find at the dump. It got a little damaged as the glass was shattered when I found it and has some small scratch marks but still a lovely piece.
I couldn't find much on his art work by him.
I'm going to keep this one.

Hi, Owen Wood was my father. I stumbled across this page whilst googling his name. It breaks my heart and defies belief that someone would throw this beautiful painting away, he was an incredibly talented man. He illustrated another Edward Lear book, The Jumblies. I hope you enjoy the painting, I have the original painting of The Owl and The Pussycat dancing on the beach. Regards Robert

      Hi. Robert,

So great to hear from you! Don't feel like someone threw the painting away on purporse, that is not always the case. Many valuable and personal items find their way to the dump, through house clearances and unpaid storage. I'm just glad that I have the opportunity to salvage them!

I really love the painting and am planning on putting it in my kid's room so they can enjoy it.

I'll be sure to check out the Jumblies to see more of his work!

      Thanks again.
