A similar vase is shown in Plate 34 of the Franz Welz Klostergrab article by Craig Orkney in the April 2016 issue of All About Glass. Interesting about this bud vase is that it seems to have been formed in two parts with the blown vase fused to a separately formed black foot.
This vase measures just under 7 1/2" (18.8 cm) tall. The diameter of the foot is 2 1/2" (6.3 cm). It is marked as shown.
GREAT PIECE !!!!
Gorgeous and interesting too. I have a rose bowl in the Welz décor Pink-Purple, and an unknown blue Tango vase, each with same fused foot. Great to see another!
Great example. These fused foot examples are not all that common. I have one in a similar form with a body in pink lines with pink spots. Thanks for posting it.
It took a while but I've started appreciating these pieces that have a more pale interior. Welz has such a range of working with bright contrasting colors as well as more neutral or pale colors as well...
