(1 item)
THIS ITEM WAS FOUND AT A GARAGE SALE. I BELIEVE IT TO BE A VERY LARGE STANDING CARVED PARROT. THE ITEM HAS CONSIDERABLE FADING FROM THE WEATHER. THE ITEMS STANDS 39.5" TALL. THE MEASUREMENT FROM HEAD TO THE TAIL IS 29". IT DOES SEEM TO HAVE SOME DETAIL STILL IN THE HEAD AND ON THE SIDE WHERE THE FEATHERS WERE. THE PERSON TOLD THEY HAD IT FOR 15 YEARS. IT IS VERY STRIKING AND DON'T KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT IT BUT JUST LOVED IT . I DO UNDERSTAND SOME OF THESE GET SIGNED BUT MIGHT HAVE BEEN FADED. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON POSSIBLY CLEANING IT OR IDENTIFYING AGE OR AN ARTIST WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
All I can tell you about it is that it's a Macaw. Identifying an artist or the age of the piece is pretty much impossible because there is nothing in the way of clues. The driftwood used to fashion the Macaw might already have been 50+ years old before it was carved.
If you want to clean and sanitize your driftwood:
