I went to a market where I haven't been in some time, mainly because choices consisted of rubbish, kid stuff and junk jewelry.
Not today, however. Amid all the nonsense were these three pendants. The Evil Eye pendant is 14K and Murano glass - scrap value is 5,50 ($6.17). The Leo star sign pendant is 14K - scrap value is 25 Euro ($28.07) and the Maltese Cross pendant is 18K gold - scrap value is 40 Euro ($44.91).
And...the people selling knew it was gold! I was asked 5 Euro for it. OK.
Sheesh.
I'm going to see if I can find out anything about the maker of the Maltese cross. I'll be scrapping the other two pendants.
Thanks for looking!

Wow, you certainly scored nicely with these!
They are nice. It's pity you want to scrap those two pendants, I think you would be able to sell them well above scrap value.
martika - I had a 14K Leo pendant before, put it up for sale and got zero interest. The Evil Eye gold pendant is very common. This one is just one of many I've bought for little money at the flea markets/second hand shops.
Awww...Me too. Sad to see something go for Scrap. I think I suffer for the loss of anything. HELL, I have a hard time deleting photos from my camera, even though they are on my computer.
I think ?? After losing my parent -- I just kinda grieve for anything. I try to rescue things more-so and save it. I need the 12-Step program for collectors !!!!
rose - I figure I didn't come into this world with anything, so what I have now I will enjoy for awhile and then wave bye-bye to it. I always seem to find something else to take it's place....for a while.... :-))))
Sometimes things are too hard for people and they just want to move stuff on.
Their loss, your gain Bonnie!
I agree at times scrap is where things go, but I can still relate to losing a made item.
I can't believe how you always come up with these "steals" Bonnie! SCORE again!
