... not really sure because I can't find any references. Anyone here familiar with Mendel's Tobacco Cards? The company was a rather small operation, it appears.
The 'Dixie II' was indeed the fastest motor boat in the world when it was launched in 1908 - in fact, it was defeated only once in over a hundred races and spurred the development of the first racing hydroplanes! Supposedly it resides in a museum in upstate NY, but the museum website has no information about it on their website. I can't locate another example in this series (if it indeed was a series and not one-off). Can't even find a decent tobacco/ciggie chat room to ask an expert...
