The first photo is my dad's army dolls with a photo of his regiment. (I think I have posted these before separately), but today I arranged them together along with some old books and thought they made a nice group. The second photo is my giant old laundry basket with rolled up linens, clothespins, a tin sprinkling bottle and a pepsi bottle with a sprinker top for ironing. (As if I were really planning to iron!) As I was rolling the linens, I had a de je vu moment remembering my mom sprinkling and rolling pieces waiting to be ironed.. The third is a collection of vintage jewelry and perfumes on a pewter tray. The jewelry belonged to my mom and grandmother. The perfumes are a sample of my favorite, mom's favorite and a bottle I got in Hawaii which brings back such lovely memories of paradise.
Please don't tell me you still live in SF ! LOL !
Great vignettes Mary.
yeah - the sprinkler bottle! Thanks be for steam irons (although mine rarely is switched on these days).
Hey -thanks be for modern fabrics!!
Brunswick, yes! I use them a lot and they are a part of my holiday décor as well. I just got out my Edgar Allen Poe, The Headless Horseman and a book of vintage Halloween postcards to display in October.
Oroy...thanks for the compliment on my post.
blunderbuss...I don't live in SF!
racer...I may get out the iron for a dress up occasion: wedding, funeral, etc. Otherwise it's all wash n wear. How many lost hours spent on laundry, ironing, cooking and cleaning back in the day? No wonder they had no internet--they would not have had time! ha!
thanks all for the loves.
Brunswick, Oroy, blunderbuss, PhilDMorris, racer4four, Nevada and Tassie!
