@Daddy_Nobucks - What do you know about this sign?
    2. Daddy_Nobucks Daddy_Nobucks, 8 years ago
1950's. These were displayed in a variety of ways. The big ones mostly on storefronts, one at each end of the marquee style sign with store name and offerings (Candy, Cigarettes, Liquor, etc... the big draw items). Near mint condition and large size make for a premium payoff these days in the collector's market. The version with the bottle is more desirable. Still, yours has "in Bottles" which is a plus. Many buttons aren't maker-marked. Temco churned them out, and Allen-Morrison (these are marked A-M). From what I can see, it's nearly perfect. Normally that makes me wonder about restoration. But the back side looks exactly right, so I'd say you have an authentic american beauty there.

How thick should the porcelain be? And do you know what the brown paper on the back would be from?
    4. Trey Trey, 8 years ago
Brown paper is what they were wrapped in for shipping its called onion paper. Welcome to CW:) Porcelain is not that thick on these. Looks Awesome!!!

Thanks Trey! Does anyone know if the lettering should be raised or flush with the rest of the sign? I'm new to this and this, so I want to learn more and cover my bases!

I can just barely feel the letters on mine.
    7. Daddy_Nobucks Daddy_Nobucks, 8 years ago
They can be raised or smooth, depending on maker's print/finishing process.

My second favorite button sign. Very nice!
