Tranquil Streams Inn- Piedmont of North Carolina

Hello everybody, many folks have probably seen my previous posts showing various folk art houses and buildings that I have built using Popsicle sticks and other materials. In this post, I show what started it all; it was this house that first got me interested in the fun and addictive hobby of folk art. I built this house, the "Tranquil Streams Inn" some time ago, named after the small trickling streams and waterfalls that appear after the heavy rains. I had heard of other folks' miniature houses and thought it might be fun to do the same, but with a twist; that mine be built exactly as real, old-time houses, capable of withstanding the elements. Anyway, this house is my first attempt at wooden folk art. Another purpose I had for creating it, was for to fill in the bare space in my flower planter! The first image shows the house when it was first built, the second shows it sometime later with some newer modifications, and the last two images shows how it appears now, after eight years in the elements. Thanks for reading, and I hope that perhaps this post might kindle this fun and addictive hobby within other folks in the future. Thank you!

Your items are truly lovely, but self-made objects aren't allowed on CW:

Oh, I didn't know that. The only reason I post these items on Collectors Weekly is because I am not a member of any other photograph sharing websites or organizations. The majority of my posts are of vintage items. Thank you for the information.

Welcome. Items you have bought and refurbished are ok to post, but not homemade items.
