I bought this rocker today at an auction. I can't locate a name on it but metal hinges underneath say Patent May 1923; wood underneath stamped No. 5. There is a star on the seat and the front legs are on little wooden wheels. The back legs are not which stands to reason!
Thanks in advance for any help. Jeanne
I really don't know what to say on this one, without some identification the best recommendation to you that I can give is to go to the history room at your local library and look for furniture ads and see if you find something like. That also depends only if the chair came originally from your area. There were countless furniture makers up to the 70's which closed down and left no information whatsoever on their business, that is why the library is so important still. The internet is a later source so a lot of nothing on furniture makers, only the important ones seem to show up there. Approx 97 or more percent left no records.
Thank you Phil...I appreciate your response!
