Discovered this beautiful clock at a yard sale. It is 12 inches high and 9 inches wide. The clock has 4 removable panes of glass. It runs on a double A battery.
I cannot find another image like it on the Internet.
The clock face has (Pearl) and West Germany indicated on the front.
The clock runs on a Double A battery.
The mechanism shows that it is a S Haller W993. With a new battery it sounds like it will run forever, but only for 5 minutes at a time.
It weighs approx 6 lbs.
Oh yeah , it cost 1.00.
Is it oak or mahogany.??
Can it be repaired within a reasonable price.??
If it's a newer piece, it might even be stained pine(?????). So, after 5 minutes, it just stops??? And then what??? Do you have to remove the battery and put it back in again for another 5-minute run??? [;>)
I give the mechanism a flick of my finger and it starts again. I do not believe it is pine. It's very heavy, I think it may be oak or mahogany.
I think it is either 1970s or 1980s
