Thank you fleafinder, you're a star! Do you know much about this manufacturer?i can't seem to find anything online? The only thing I can find under that name is a vase, but the backstamp is different, I'll show you the link now...

hmmm according to the website this mark of porcelain is produced in the 17th century but only became famous during the 19th century.

It is produced from the kanazawa prefecture of Japan

      Hope this helps!

Thank you that's very helpful. Well if it reads the same possibly it's just a different date, the one I found could be a much earlier example.& unfortunately I don't think I've struck it rich haha! I don't think my porcelain is anywhere near that age so could possibly be a reproduction or more modern piece from the same manufacturer!thank you so much for your help!& if you know or find out anything else I'd be very grateful to know!

Did you ever find out more about this tea set? I have one with the same mark. Most of the Asian items in the estate in which I found the set came from Japan, where my uncle was stationed for several years after World War II. He sent back a lot of lovely things, several of which — a silk kimono, a porcelain doll with beautiful clothes, et cetera — I’ve just found have been ruined in a flood in my storage unit. Fortunately, it didn’t hurt the porcelain! I’m trying to value the set to ensure it for shipment and I have no clue — Would welcome any ideas

      Generic Kutani mark, kiln unknown.
