This is a beauty ,but I'm not sure if it is Indian or Persian pottery ,it has a wonderful form with incised designs all around the body and a long neck with a metal band around the top, there is no signature which for such a fine piece of work I'm surprised!

All I can tell you is that it definitely isn't Native American Indian, since it was thrown and decorated on a potter's wheel, and has that metal band around the neck.

Black clay pottery is made in lots of places in the world, including Mexico, China, Romania, Tibet, several African nations, and countries in Central and South America...to name just a few. Maybe someone else will recognize this distinctive style.
