I picked this very cool bracelet up at a second hand store. It has 6 panels but one has been removed to size it down. There is a mark on the tongue of the clasp but I have no idea what it means. I hope someone can help me.
Marks look Russian .... Cyrillic alphabet.
That's quite a bracelet. Op art! I have no idea what that mark means, either, but someone else here will know.
Efesgirl and vetraio50 thank you for your input and I am trying to look into the Russian angle.
Love it! This is beautiful!
I dont understand the 8 in the script. Pity that I forgot most of my cyrillic knowledge. Did you find out what that means?
If I am correct - and I forgot a lot - you should read it as L - yu - ? - m
The mark says something like Leningrad Jewelry Factory #8, Base Metal. Made in late 1960s - early 70s.
Oh, and the design is absolutely great!
lentilka11 and davyd286 thank you so much for the info. I have now found pictures of one like it but the listing is no longer available, so I didn't gain any additional info. At least I now know when and where it came from. And I agree it's a great design.
this is so interesting, thank you davyd!
jondal, the bracelet design is superb
I hope I can find one of those some day.
lentilka11 and davyd286 thank you for your comments! It's amazing to me that I found this great piece of jewelry from the cold war Era in a small town thrift store. It just proves you really never know what you will find and I love the hunt!
