This vase is a new addition to my Crown Devon collection. I already posted quite a few pieces from the Fielding potteries. The hand painted vase is from the same time period as the previous posts - late 19th century, very early 20th century. It has a lion on crown back stamp - the so called Royal patterns at SF & Co are used to be stamped with it. But I don't think this pattern, however beautiful is one of those Royal patterns. The vase is 26 cm high (slightly over 10''), has a rare shape, it is in very good condition, except a small smudge on the top.
That's unusual - and very pretty.
Thank you Efesgirl. It is really a rare shape, I learned this from Ray Baker's book. He is a Crown Devon expert.
That is truly beautiful!
The shape is wonderful Martika, and I really love the blue highlights.
I'm always amazed at the quality of painting on your Crown Devon.
Just beautiful Martika!!
