    4 lizards (gecko's)
    all the white lines are incised, the black is painted.
    Black rim
    no signature

    looks to me as Acoma Pueblo... but CanyonRoad has informed me this is soapstone made in Africa

      It does resemble pottery, but it isn't. This is actually a soapstone bowl, from Africa.

      Usually marketed as "Kisii soapstone," a wide variety of items are made in the Kisii district of Kenya. Here is a web site telling the background, and the process that crafts people go through in producing the popular souvenirs:
