Fat Lava pottery is so common here that I often don't even look at it. This one was too pretty to leave in the thrift shop. No dings, no scuffs, no nothing aside from normal signs of wear on the base.

Founded in 1883 by Peter Dümler and his brother in law Albert Breiden in western Germany not far from Koblenz, this factory was one of West Germany's leading ceramic companies during the 1950s and 60s. They produced a wide range of forms and glazes of good quality, using white clay and with quirky styles and colours. The company closed in 1992.
Marks include the crossed swords with DB, form and size numbers and GERMANY.
Thanks for looking!

Very nice find Bonnie!!!!!
D&B (and Carstens) made the most interesting stuff in my opinion. Nice one Bonnie!
Are the "Marks include the crossed swords with DB form" on this red vase?
Why am I not seeing it? IF you meant that that mark is on some of this pottery could you send a picture of this mark. Thank you.
