Hello everyone I just resently acquired two items and I need help with both.
The first item is a beautiful Wedgewood Basalt Jasperware silver brooch.
Great condition, but I can't figure out the date code.
The first digit is partially missing the 2nd digit looks like O and the last digit appears to be C.
Any help/information will be appreciated .
Hi there, I don't think the letters are a date code. More likely a potters mark. The mark says Made in England, so it's 20th century. I don't think there is a date, unless the silver mount has a date mark. It's a lovely brooch.
Looking at the design, it's one I am unfamiliar with (I collect Wedgwood jasperware), so it could be earlier in the 20th century.
Thank you AdeleC for your input and the love shown from everyone.
It drives me crazy when there's no straight answer.
Here is the same plaque, mounted in 9ct gold, with number F11:
