    Hello fellow collectors!!!

I've posted this fellow before, but felt him worthy of a re-post. It's a vintage bronze hare sculpture. He was made in Italy exclusively for the Gump's department store.

I have another identical bronze hare sculpture that doesn't have the verdigris patina as this one does. I'll post that one sometime in the future.

He's just so very detailed and well sculpted. I love the expression on his face and his stance. Though not solid, he's still a heavy fellow at 13" tall and weighing in at 8 lbs.

Gump's department store is a very high end home furnishings store. It was founded in 1861 and still operates today in San Francisco Bay Area.

Hope you love him as much as I do and thanks for stopping to have a look!!!!

    Scott

Very nice Scott I can see why you love him so much. He appears to be a perfect example of the Easter bunny...alert and playful. :)

It's hollow and 13 lbs? Sweet hefty hare. !! Adorable expression I see daily on my cats face about to get his soft food.
      Is it white washed painted?
      He's adorable. :)

      OneGoodFind,
Thanks! Yes, he's hollow and 8 lbs (13" tall). Pure copper and he's just got that blue/green patina that copper gets from age. Not white washed. He does have a pretty cool expression, doesn't he? Thanks again!!!!

      fortapache,
Thanks!! I still post one here and there. Many more in my collection, but I seem to stay more focused on my trunks and hats. They're my biggest collectibles.

      ho2cultcha,
Thanks very much! You're absolutely right. GUMPS originated in the bay area in 1861 and has had locations in Beverly Hills, Houston and Dallas. They're only in the bay area now. Thanks again! Always very happy to see you drop by!!
