This is an upright GE clock, radio and record player. The doors fold up and down in front of the radio and record player. The clock and speakers are set in, and they can come out completely. I got it at a thrift store. I cannot find any information about it. I have contacted several radio enthusiasts with no luck. It is in really wonderful condition and everything works. I would like to find an owners manual for it. I even contacted General Electric and they recommended I contact a museum that displays GE stuff, never heard back from them.
It is 53" tall and 22" wide. The label on the back says it is model G 503 g.
Any information anyone can give me would be appreciated! I have a horizontal stereo console, but have never seen a vertical one.
Thanks!
wow..:-O
Hello Mrs Howell, I have the same radio and same difficulties as u regarding finding any information on it. I absolutely love mine and would love to find at least a owner's manual. I bought mine at a yard sale and it is in working condition. My model no is G504g the only difference I can see is our radios are different.
Cweetleaf76, I can't find any information about this. What would you call it? A tower console or upright console?
I just purchased the same unit and on the back there is a sticker that reads ( This set is not for sale pre production sample)
Jayopim, that would explain why these are so hard to find! Have you been able to put a value on it?
I have beeen trying for years to get more information on this wonderful piece! Mine has no clock but has 2 sets of speakers! I love it! It was my grandparents! This is the first time I have ever seen another one similar to mine. I hope we can gather more information
Hi: I just run across this picture and was surprised to see how many have shown up out there. I worked for GE in the Decatur, Il. plant that made this model. I have one that is the same as yours without the clock option. My crew built these and I liked it so well I bought one for myself. It is not likely you could get an owners manual anymore, but you should get many years of use from it. Feel free to contact me if you wish at mcmullen6@gmail.com. Chuck McMullen
My in-laws recently found one at a thrift store tag reads G 502 g. Looks just like the one in the pictures. Anyone get a value on it yet? They are antique collectors and were just wondering.
Djeriddle, I have not been able to get a value yet. It really is a great piece. Do your in-laws' have the brass hinged handles?
I recently found the same piece. Does anyone know how to adjust the sound of the turntable and set the clock? Or was anyone able to come across a manual.
My parents gave me theirs and I was hoping to restore it. It is missing the handle on the stereo shelf, so I am trying to find a part. Does anyone have any ideas where I might be able to find one? Other than that, I think that this one is mostly operational.
Hi I had one given to me today from a Neighbor that moved out across the street. I had no idea this was a Unique rare piece everything is here not missing anything. It’s a GE G504G with clock and radio and Record player and speakers with all handles cords . Any one know what this one is worth? It’s in great condition and everything works . I am thinking about dropping it off to have it restored . To hand down to my kids and family!
