This is a metaphysical crystal called Rutile Quartz Sagenite in a glass orb. It is a type of semi precious gem. Rutile Quartz Sagenite is a combination of both quartz and rutile (rock quartz crystal). This particular crystal has gold threads in it which a special feature of the crystal.
It is believed that such crystal can delay the aging process and strength immunity.

@ kiyoshi this is probably bought by my hubby from an auction long time ago aint so sure i love it as it is in the orb which i quite unique

kiyoshi if u love it you could check out the crystal shops in chinatown or any fengshui shop selling crystal
i believe they do sell them and remember to grab one for ur mum!
