Picked this from a local online auction. Thought I was buying a battery operated version. The ad was vague, as the small town auction house doesn't do much, if any research. Been trying to find one for a while, but lots of cracked, beat up cars for high prices would get left behind.
Didn't inspect the box until 4 days later when I thought I would try the lighting that the car has. I flipped up the body and seen the .049 gas option instead of a battery box / electric motor and light bulb. It was a good surprise as these are rarer than battery versions. I will use a small LED attached to a battery for the light system. I central bulb shines through transparent formed plastic tubes to simulate headlights and tail lights. Paid very little as not many bidders looking for toys on this auction.
It's nice when you hit an auction that the stuff you like is what no one is bidding. Doesn't happen often to me but when it does it's great.
I've never had it happen with promo cars though. I've bid on them but never enough. Maybe I'm just cheap.
wow wonderful condition on this mustang, I love it
