I picked up this 4.5 ft long concrete aggregate panel the other day at a junk shop. I sometimes work with concrete aggregate, and i know how difficult it is to get such beautiful results as in this panel. i'd like to make a table or maybe a wall-hanging with this piece. it's very heavy - about 100 lbs and in very good condition. i'm glad i got it!

thanks Efes, Caper and olebodie! i did not know that olebodie, but will look it up now. i wonder what the sugar water does? the rocks in this are the same as those found around here, so i do think it's local.

I do floors and paths like that at my house open aggregate.

thank you Ralph and Olebodie! so the sugar doesn't allow the cement on the surface to set, allowing it to be washed off, leaving the aggregate.

I don't us sugar just keep washing it then varnish it that brings out the colour and the grain.
