This is about 7 inches long and 4 inches high. I picked it up years ago and have never known what it is for. I took it into an antique shop but they had no idea other than maybe a vase?

I can't love this sorry, and I have no idea! I'm interested to see what others think it is!
Looks like a planter to me.
Is it open on the end?
Anything at all on the bottom?
I love it simply because it's so weird!
It is open on the top on the tall thing and the main piece. I can't say I love it either it is just so curious. There is just a couple squiggles on the bottom that look like crayon. Not sure if they are supposed to be there or an accident.
That has to be the strangest piece of pottery I've ever seen.
i definitely see a planter here, too! although oddly shaped, it looks to me like a stylized portrayal of a twisted log or branch, but that's harder to see with the mid-century? paint job.

I have to wonder if that "spout" is where the water would go, rather than putting water directly onto the plant from above....heck, I dunno! LOL
I have something quite similar to this one, but it actually looks like a hollow log type thing. I used to have fake flowers in it for a while but ended up taking it outside, drilling some drainage holes in the bottom and putting a succulent in it which is growing quite nicely.........
I remember something similar in my Great Grandmothers house , and my other Grandmas, the used to put plastic flowers in them, sort a floral arrangement. I recall that they were Japanese pottery. It is rather a strange shape but I remember being told it was a "tree trunk thingy vase". I believe that the floral arrangement was to cover the whole thing , like a holder , form .
