Hi CW Gang:
Sorry for the absent here, just been busy. I just picked this up today a Vintage United Wood Ship Clock that lights up with Red on one end, and Blue on the other. I think the light toppers are not correct, as I assume they had glass or something in them. But I still love it anyways. Big Clock, and very classy. Maybe 1950's or 1960's I guess....??
Oh...but not so much fun to CLEAN IT .......LOL
Thanks for LOOKING // LOVING !!

I remember actually going to auctions and seeing these at times. Much better than looking on the web.
this is really a Gorgeous combi. any idea where itnis made in?
Brenda, it says MADE IN USA under the 6 in photo #2.
Very neat ship clock, Rose! [;>)
This is very cool and delightful Rose. You need a ship drinks tray to go with it; you know the ones, with decanter and shot glasses.
Maybe not - probs a different class altogether. This one isn't tacky lol.
Thanks for the ~ LOVES ~

You bought yourself a winner here Rosie! I love mixed media pieces and yours has everything... metal, glass , string , wood etc. Great Piece! You captured it beautifully in the first pic!
It's great Rose. Ditto what Rick said. :)
These are actually called " Silver Cloud " and the label hung with two small nails just to the left of the middle left side of clock. Identical ones to yours also had different clock movements. Some were made by United, Sessions and also Americano, but those are just the clock movements used. Your version was made by United Metal Co. Inc., Brooklyn, N.Y.
I am not sure if the other two makers were just clocks that also fit the hole also perfectly for the clock, but that is a possibility. I know I have seen one my best friend in Regina had, which had a sessions clock movement.
My Ex-wife found one of these in a vintage shop. I will find out how much she paid.
She knows I like to do models and ships etc. and can repair many things. So she asked me to r4epari this old ship. Someone took the back plate off the clock and then it was wired in place with Fishing line. The Clock whined. The sails are dusty with just a little rust and some were coming apart.. a light bulb burned out and the clock face is missing and there were no rigging on the ship which would be an easy fix. It's good to know the approximate age. They had no idea at the shop. Liquid wrench stopped the whining. Now the clock runs smooth I got it all back together and she will be thrilled.. What is a Ship Topper as mentioned in the Op?
