    I acquired this at least a decade ago, I'm not sure what it's original purpose was, but it's colourful, around 100 years old and just appealed to me. It looks Moroccan, but I'm not sure of it's full history.

      interesting! looks like Spanish talavera too - but morrocan majolica looks very similar.

      Thank you, I've always wondered what it's supposed to be. I think it's not of any great value, but it is very ornamental and sort of fits with any decor.

      I presume that there are no marks on the base?

      You presume correctly maryh1956. There are no markings anywhere. It came with a small certificate of authenticity, but that's likely not worth the paper it's written on and it only certifies it as an antiquity, which is fairly self evident. thanks for having a look at it.
