If I was to be limited in my Japanese glass collecting by brand, Kurata would be my choice.
They have had incredible artists and glass blowers, and their work is always of a high standard.
When I'm searching online for glass, Kurata always jumps out at me.
    This bright number certainly did!

It's a very bright yellow with a flower design on one side executed in white and black glass. In the centre of the flower an air bubble has been made in the clear case (clever!).
Silver speck has been laid in sheets under the clear so there is variation in intensity. This method of applying silver seems very Japanese, and Kurata love to do it.

It's a happy and pretty piece. Nice ovoid shape, squeezed neck and slightly flared lip. Height 16cm

Sunny and upbeat just like you Karen.:)
Started me thinking when we had to learn the metric system in school and because I have to Google it every time it must have been ...too late. :)

Thanks Inky. Glad you like it!

OGFind - we did metric in the 70s here so even the age I am I'm OK at it. I used to also give an Imperial measurement in my posts but figured the brain strain of converting would be good for others lol.
Thanks for the compliment! I'm not always upbeat but when I talk online I can see no reason not to be, know what I mean. Who am I to bring others down?
