Here's a nice little Welz bud vase in a very unusual shape. It is about 7.5 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter not counting the applied clear glass leaves. The interior layer of white glass is cased in clear glass with pulled red and pink spots and streaks. The interior has a ribbed texture that produces an optical effect if light is shown from the inside. The bulbous upper section has lobes resembling a flower bud about to open, and the narrow lower pedestal section is ribbed. The clear glass leaves, or fins if you prefer, are evenly distributed around the vase, 5 around the base and 6 around the bulbs. It is nicely finished with a cut top and a polished bottom. A nice example of ornate Victorian era tastes. Every now and then, I place a rose in it. Many thanks to the discerning seller from whom I purchased it quite a few years ago. It has given me much enjoyment.
Updated count of applied leaves around base and waist. - Bob

Hi Bob A! Welz vases come in myriads of colors and shapes.....here's another. I'm sure that someone is cataloguing and giving them names for a future reference book.....if not they should. The Royal Artglass information on this upload may stir some conflict but c'est la vie! Bob
