(149 items)
Three months ago I posted on CW a Victorian green majolica stand. It was found in one charity shop, but without a jardinière. I was hoping to find soon something to put on it. And the day arrived!!! Today me and my husband had a day out in Brighton. In one big junk shop I spotted this matching planter. To be honest the green hues are not 100% same on the two items, but the colours are so similar and the patterns are nearly identical. I think it looks great together. I searched many times on the net for a jardinière with similar looks, but none of them came even halfway close.
The planter with a stand is two feet tall. Neither of them has a maker's mark, only the stand has an impressed registration number. Maybe they were made by the same manufacturer, maybe not. Probably it will remain a mystery.
Great Pairing !!!
Astonishingly close.....they look great!
You did well! The varying shades of green make the whole thing more interesting.
If you have a registration number, you should be able to get more info on the maker, if it’s legible
wonderful pieces martika flawless match
What a luck! They match fairly well, the decor of swirls and acanthus seems the same! ô..ô

Mary, I looked up that registration number, it just says only the purpose of the item and the year 1895, nothing about the manufacturer :(
Too bad, it is lovely and a great match!
Girl, turn that frown upside down.:) You have a very lovely and old piece. Display it with pride and keep the faith. It's posted and one day maybe ...:)
OGF - you are right. It proudly stands in my living room :)
