I am posting this to help out Nouveaudeco to identify his sculpture in a similar form but different décor. This sculpture is by Formia Vetri di Murano. They have been around since 1962. An article that I read says that today they have "26 furnaces and 10 master glassmakers who work within it today. Formia International continuously collaborates with high fashion names, creating products for the home decorating lines of Fendi, Cavalli, Dior and Armani." They are still in business today.
My sculpture stands over 12 inches tall. The lens is approximately 10 inches in diameter and 3 inches thick. The rectangular base is approximately 4x4x2 inches. It is signed and numbered x/500 on base and there is an applied clear sticker that you can see toward the upper right corner of the lens in the photo. A multi-colored "Iris" of the eye is cased in the clear glass lens. I haven't weighed it, but it must weigh about 20 pounds. I believe this may solve Nouveaudeco's mystery.

What a beautiful work of art Beymvey! It obviously took a very talented artist to achieve the lovely pattern!
Thanks Rick. It seems to follow you around the room, and also bends the light resulting in picking up colors at different angles.
So special.
Thanks again Racer! BTW - I love some of your cool Japanese glass!
Never seen one and if I do I'll buy it.
Thanks GeodeJem! - I got lucky & found this in local thrift shop a few years back. - Cheers! - Bob
Thanks beyemvey now my mystery is finally solved.
