I bought this at an antique auction yesterday. I'm not seeking an appraisal or anything of the sort, but I am wondering if anyone can tell me whether the statuette is bakelite or early form of resin?
I love the little brass footsies, and I intend to take it in to an antique dealer to see if they can give an idea just by the style of the feet, as I know this is a common method of aging an item. I love the carved alabaster 'pilon' and base too. I somehow don't think that the plug, cord and collar combo are original.
Unfortunately it is missing its shade but I would love to have seen the original. It makes me wonder what shape it would have been. Does anyone else have one like this or similar?
