When I saw this I thought it was going to be the same shape as the one I posted a few weeks ago. However it's not.....there are differences in the foot area, but there is a major difference in the size of the rim opening.

    Three layers.... blue, spatter, clear.

I like this one for its pretty blue inner.

    Height 17 cm./6.75 inches

Very nice colors - I especially like the Robin's egg blue. Welz's use of color is just so distinctive, isn't it?

A very nice pair! The differences are small.I guess the same pattern was made by different workers/blowers and they observed a general project while details depended on their personal way .Do you think I'm saying heresy? :-)

I completely agree that the Welz colour palette is distinctive, Michelle.

I am not sure either are by Welz at all.... although I do believe they are most likely by different companies.....

Different molds.... quite similar, but also definitively different.... enough so that I would not think same company. Now if one could find the two different forms in the identical décor, that may indicate otherwise.

Regardless, they are a great study pair....

Hi Ivonne. Really I'm not an expert. However with these shapes the glass would be blown into a mould and often there would be moulds of the same shape in different sizes. My post of the Translucent Lines rose bowl shows just such an example.

I think it far less likely that a company would make similar shapes with rims in greatly different sizes. After all these would have metal flower arrangers added later and for simplicity the company would not want to have more than one size.

So I think these were made by different companies. I could be wrong of course.

I know next to nothing about Czech glass Peggy (as you know) but I agree here these are probably different company makes, just because they are alike but still so very different. I have seen that a lot in my glass travels - a style and shape becomes popular and different companies do their own take on it. I'm sure you have seen that too.
Back to these two! The blue is lovely and I like that the spatter doesn't cover it totally. I would happily own either but the confetti is nicer for me - that intense spatter and the shape seems more refined.

Hi, Karen, I totally agree with your first paragraph! I' m sure also, that like me, you've seen it in other products too. I see what you see in the blue one but still prefer the blue one.

No, I don't know/think that you know next to nothing about Czech glass.......

I'm not sure these have been identified - the shape is common in confetti, tango, airbrush, onionskin and marbled

Someone please do a shape study

I've a feeling someone did do a shape study, but it was inconclusive.......

Reading this again a post showing examples of airbrush, onionskin etc would be welcome.....at least by me.
