Hello, I purchased these brooches from charity shops and would love to know more about them if anyone could help.
The purple one has a long pin which is longer than the pin, it may have had some sort of marking along the bar but I can't tell if its just wear.
The brooch with the turquoise / blue stone in centre seems to have a makers stamp, within a circle but I can't make it out.
The other two don't appear to be marked.
Any help or information would be appreciated.
I love your brooches. I hope the know-lots people help with info but here's my thoughts (nothing technical mind):
The purple brooch is a stunner and so nicely made. The jewels are great and the subtle enamelling sets it off so well.
The little enamelled brooch reminds me of a Scottish one I have - the flower might be heather?
The other two are newer costume I think but still lovely.
I would happily wear any of these.
Thanks racer4four and MsCrystalShip for your info and comments, yes the purple one does look well made and in very good condition, and I thought similar about the long pin but later clasp, its all very confusing.
Love the brooches! No the hinges dont look victorian.
You have to yell Efesgirl for 3x.
