Really just a question, I recently purchased this old model from a used nautical shop.
It is in need of much repair, but I think it is beautifully done.
I was wondering if anyone in the group has any info or input about this model.
I know it might be hard and looks like you actually already did, but in my opinion, I don't think this should be touched as far as "repairing" goes... It's very cool just as it is. I'd be curious to know how old this is. And was it in a bottle, how large is it? Or small. Wow, bet it's from the 1800's. It's been a hard lesson for me to learn, but I try now not to clean anything! If I get something in what some would think was poor condition, it's because I know it's value. Someone here may be able to come along and give you real info you need about this item.
Thanks for the info,I agree it is beautiful as is,looks like it survived(or just survived)
Hurricane Matthew.
just a tip...could be useful..I can't tell from the picture, but maybe you can be able to get it in a range of date if you can tell what kind of nails or screws in it..that is if it has any that you can see..if it does, do a little research on the type of nail/ screw..hope that helps!
Thanks, good idea, the over all length is approx 3 ft and 2 ft to the top of the main mast.so it is larger than the picture shows.
