Purchased by my great-great-grandfather in Louisville, Kentucky in the late 1800s. He was owner of John Finzer Tobacco Works in Louisville. He died in 1898.

Great heirloom! Thanks for sharing with us. This Ansonia model is called the "Cabinet Antique". My reference has it at circa 1894. It certainly could have been made several years before or after that date.
It originally listed for $32. That's about the equivalent of $900 in 2016. Ansonia and antique clock collectors seem to really like this model.
